Sweet Summer Citrus from the Bloom Workshop

I had the best time at The Bloom Workshop last week, and I’m so excited to share some of the pretty that Ashley Slater Photography and Michaela Noelle Designs had in store for us! It was an absolute delight to spend the day with so many amazing creative entrepreneurs and get such great hands-on tutorials in styling and photography!

I’ve been indulging my love of learning and increasing my creative repertoire by taking a lot of workshops this season, and Bloom proved to be a perfect blend of the skills that I wanted to sharpen. The hostesses, both leaders in their creative field, shared their expertise on blogging, social media, and building a successful brand. They followed it up with breakout sessions focusing on their skill set, with styling and elements of design with Michaela Noelle and digital photography with Ashley Slater. Armed with our new knowledge, they turned us loose to play with and photograph the gorgeous styled shoot!

Regale Winery, an absolute gem of a vineyard and tasting room nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains, provided the setting for the workshop and the shoot. The Italian-inspired villa is one of my favorite destinations for a drive in the mountains and a glass of wine, and it could not have been a more perfect venue! The formal outdoor gardens and views of the mountains were lit with rich early summer sun, inspiring the lush summer citrus hues used throughout the shoot. Michaela used kumquats as the starting point for her design, incorporating them in the floral arrangements, adorning the cake and place settings, even as a hand painted motif on the envelope liners! Pieces by Violet provided gorgeous vintage pieces for the Head Table and Lounge, decorated with lush peach and eucalyptus arrangements by Natalie Bowen DesignsKaitlin Parisho Designs created the gorgeous stationery suite including adorable calligraphy Mr. and Mrs. banners for the bride and groom’s chairs!
