Getting married in Charleston has never looked quite so pretty as the rose gold romance of Kat and Matt’s wedding day! Their mix of dreamy pastels, sweet sparkles, and whimsical style was a celebration of these Southern sweethearts – and their Goldendoodle, Derby! They visited the coastal city the weekend after getting engaged, and fell in love with its charm for their destination wedding! They planned a picture perfect wedding day that was full of fun with the help of Catherine Ann Photography, Intrigue Designs, and Roadside Blooms!

Rose Gold Romance with Doggy Details

Looking at their Charleston-inspired pastel palette, you would never guess this wedding took place in the middle of winter! Kat’s love of soft, romantic colors inspired the light and airy hues that made their wedding feel like a dream – the biggest challenge was finding in-season flowers in January, but South Carolina florist Roadside Blooms more than delivered! The bride and her maids carried romantic bouquets in yellow, peach, and white, with dramatic eucalyptus and silk ribbons – the creamy tones looked stunning against the mismatched bridesmaid dresses in pink, mauve, and champagne!

The couple’s sweet dog Derby figured significantly in their wedding day, which is fitting because he was a huge part of the proposal! Matt surprised his bride-to-be with a ring hidden in their Barkbox subscription! Derby fit right in with the stylish bridal party in a blush pink bow tie, while guests were invited to help themselves to ‘pup-corn’ ! The artisanal popcorn, a favorite of Kat’s, was served in bags with a custom stamp featuring Derby’s face and announcing that they ‘Do-odle’! The adorable dog even featured on their wedding cake, an elegantly simple three tier carrot cake with greenery wreaths and a custom made doggy cake topper!
