It’s no secret that I love a gorgeous coastal wedding, and this phenomenal shoot from Grace Aston Photography and Seventh Heaven Vintage Rentals fully lives up to my adoration! Romantic vintage pieces and a graceful gown perfectly call to mind a fanciful mermaid inspired wedding along the beach.
It’s always a delight when I get to share the work of fellow Bay Area wedding pros, and this truly lovely shoot is no exception! The fact that it takes place just a few miles from the place I call home, in one of the most picturesque stretches of coast you can find, certainly doesn’t hurt. The crags and cliffs at Pescadero State Beach set the stage for a romantic shoot that looked as if each piece washed ashore. A fishnet draped over the vintage table and a knit blanket draped over the tufted lounge added a gorgeous textural element to the styling and floral pieces by the immensely talented crew at Seventh Heaven Vintage Rentals. Grace’s decadent photography style adds a rich quality to the coastal light, playing beautifully off of the pastel bridal bouquet and rich berry and gold details on the crisp, white tablescape. The mint cake by Kaycakes Bakery boasted just a hint of gold leaf for a wild and glamorous touch.
One of my favorite details has to be the bridal styling – the fabulous gown from Bay Area bridal salon Kinsley James Couture Bridal was adorned with glittering details on subtle illusion netting, calling to mind the glimmer of scales on a mermaid’s tail. A neat fishtail braid and natural makeup were the perfect capper to a beachy bridal look!

[…] Hey Wedding Lady: What I love most about this site is the color pallette – whilst it’s helpful to see wedding scenes captured, it’s also helpful to know what color palettes go well together and which pairings are best. For example, ‘fresh greenery with dusty blue and charcoal gray’ or ‘modern pink and gold palettes with emerald detail.’ This blog also features staged shoots and real wedding shots to help the planner in you visualise your big day. You can find my coastal-inspired shoot here. […]
