At first I was a little opposed to staged anniversary shoots - the concept struck me as a little self indulgent and a way to drag out that ‘I’m the Bride!’ mentality a while longer. But the more I thought about it, I warmed up to the idea of celebrating and renewing your love, year after year. It’s important to remember that a marriage follows a wedding and that marriages take work and effort. Why not recapture that blissful glow from your wedding day and remind yourselves why you decided to stay together as long as you both shall live? For me an anniversary shoot is less about another staged photo op than a trip back in time to the day you said ‘I do’ and the wealth of emotions you felt then. Take time to revisit that day even without a camera and remember why you fell in love in the first place.
