There’s something about the fall that always makes me wish I were back on the East Coast – for about three weeks and then I’m glad I moved back to California – but today’s autumn in New York inspiration comes from that truly magical time of year in the Big Apple! I was inspired by the idealized version of the city you see in Nora Ephron movies – charming cobblestone streets, ivy hung brownstones, and the red of exposed brick came together in today’s modern industrial fall wedding palette.
Imaging climbing the garland wrapped stairs of an Upper West Side brownstone for a ceremony on the roof, exchanging vows in front of the sprawling New York skyline. Classic cocktails – Manhattans are a must – are served as the sun sinks over Central Park. Long tables set in the high-walled courtyard await under strands of bistro lights that come as close to stars are you see in the city. Burgundy dahlias pick up the warm tints of exposed brick walls and soar up to the sky, hushing the sounds of the city as it comes alive at night.
Such perfectly pretty fall inspiration.
The color combination is magnificent! Love the bride’s dress, simple yet so elegant!
What a great color palette and just perfect for Autumn weddings!
Yes! I’m so, so happy you put these colors together. I’m planning my wedding for next fall and keep telling everyone that my colors will be burgundy, forest green, and gold, which can seem very Christmasy. But now I have this board to help everyone see that, no, we will not be having a Christmas wedding in September. haha Anyways, thanks for the inspiration!
Love your blog! Congratulations!
